Here's a recently published article(Fortune) describing how lowering interest rates may continue. It explains how the positive effect on mortgage rates could spark market activity and with a potential benefit to buyers and homeowners this might be good news indeed.

Good article, and the rates do seem to be falling again. Hopefully some of the fence sitters will decide to lock in at these low rates. Around Baltimore they have a lot of inventory to choose from and very accomadating sellers. Have a nice holiday and thatks for posting the article.

Your welcome Maggie - I think the plan is amed to help some of those on the fence -as well as exisiting homeowners that might realize a savings through refinancing for a lower rate -  good information may put  some confidence in the step. Happy Thanksgiving to you!

Hi Teresa, I agree too that lowering of interest rates can get people to appreciate a lowered payment and may decide to buy rather than wait. Sometimes "rising" rates do the same thing from a fear perspective.

Gary that's a very good point - more pleasant when the element of fear isn't the driving force behind a decision but it has been known to create a sense of urgency.
